CleanWnd is a pre moistened cleansing & debridement cloth. It is pre impregnated with sodium hyaluronate, Phospholipids (found in the human body) and Aloe Vera (plant extract). The cloth has a needle punch technology with short fibres which enables the collection of debris easily during mechanical debridement without leaving any residual lint.
Phospholipid
Phospholipid acts as a surfactant which is biomimetic, acting as a reliable skin cleanser and it helps to restore the balance of phospholipids lost from the wound. This helps to protect viable cells as it provides essential nourishment and removal of waste from the cells.
Hyaluronic acid (HA)
is contained in sodium hyaluronate. HA is a known moisturiser and anti-inflammatory agent. The low molecular weight of our sodium hyaluronate enables easy penetration of the skin and re-hydration deeper into the tissue layers.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera contributes to the re-hydration of the skin.
CLEANWND disrupts biofilm primarily through mechanical action, supported by the action of the phospholipids which are contained in CleanWnd and furthermore by the action of HA in hydrating the wound. HA has been shown to disrupt biofilm formation. The pre-moistened cloth offers a deep clean, captures and lifts bacteria and devitalised tissue, leaving the skin feeling soothed. The surfactant ingredient leaves a residue which resists biofilms reforming.
A surfactant is a surface cleaning agent and is a key ingredient.
The surfactant enables bacteria and devitalised tissue to be gently secured in the cloth from the wound surface which can then be safely removed. CleanWnd cleanses the skin and leaves a residue of surfactant which reduces biofilm reformation.
