Spincare

The Spincare system is a portable, handheld, easy to use electrospinning device applying a fully personalised, in-situ transient skin-like matrix for the treatment of wounds and burns, achieved through the process of printing directly onto the wound.

The Spincare System consists of a handheld device and a sterile pre-filled disposable ampule which creates a customised nano-fibrous transient skin-like matrix that remains on the wound until the skin underneath is fully epithelialised.

Spincare is the first and only commercialised available portable system that integrates electrospinning technology offering immediate wound care treatment that outperforms traditional methods.

  • Contactless – no contact with the wound/patient on application helping to ensure a pain free application
  • One application – only apply once reducing the required resources to manage your wounds drastically, a cost effective solution
  • Excellent healing – Early data and experience is demonstrating great healing combined with a once only application
  • Mobility isn’t impaired – the Spincare matrix allows for immediate mobilisation and its flexible structure allows for full mobility
  • Waterproof – patients are able to shower despite having Spincare in place
  • No cutting or sizing – simply apply the matrix skin like layer on the wound area to suit
  • Transparent – easily and effectively carry out wound monitoring

The Spincare System is comprised of a hand-held, battery-operated, portable device and a pre-filled, sterile, disposable, single patient, single use ampule; Containing our sterile, biocompatible,  biodegradable polyester-based polymer solution.

A Nanofibre layer that structurally biomimics the human extracellular matrix

A stream of nanofibers produced from natural or synthetic polymer solutions forming a nanofibrous multi-layer with
a unique structure and high surface area. The structure of the nanofibrous matrix enhances fibroblast adhesion and proliferation and therefore promotes wound healing.

An excellent medium for tissue integration:

  •    A physical barrier for bacteria
  •    Reduces the potential for infection
  •    Enhances the healing process
  •    Excellent adherence
  •    Highly permeable and breathable

Has the potential to serve as a drug delivery and slow release platform
